Ugandan TikTokers Chicken Chicken and Sheilah Price, two of the country’s most prominent digital personalities, are embroiled in a public and bitter fallout following their recent collaboration on the much-hyped “Fantastic Show.” The event, held at H2O in Kololo, Kampala on June 27, was billed as a charity show with the noble aim of raising funds to build a house for a woman known as Mama Yakuza. However, what was meant to be a display of unity and goodwill has devolved into a feud over money, accusations of betrayal, and fractured friendships.

The controversy erupted shortly after the show concluded, with Sheilah Price taking to social media and various interviews to allege that she did not receive any share of the proceeds from the event. According to Price, Chicken Chicken handled all aspects of ticket sales independently and did not involve her in the process. “Chicken Chicken sold the tickets alone, and I wasn’t involved in the process of selling them. I don’t even know how much was collected from the show, and I didn’t receive a single coin from the ticket sales,” Price stated during a TikTok live session hosted by comedian Kabata.

Price further explained that while the idea for the Fantastic Show was pitched to her by Chicken Chicken, she was sidelined when it came to the financial aspects. She claimed that despite her willingness to participate, Chicken Chicken neither consulted her nor invited her to join him in selling tickets. This exclusion, she said, left her feeling marginalized and without any financial benefit from the event.

Chicken Chicken, on his part, has offered a different narrative. In interviews following the fallout, he accused Sheilah Price of failing to promote the show, which he says justified his decision not to share any of the proceeds with her. He claimed that Price often made excuses whenever invited to participate in ticket sales and was even promoting competing events on the same day as the Fantastic Show. “She didn’t deserve a single coin because she didn’t promote the show,” Chicken Chicken asserted, adding that she would always come up with excuses whenever he invited her to help with ticket sales.

The tension between the two TikTokers reached a public climax during the Fantastic Show itself, when Chicken Chicken abruptly grabbed the microphone from Sheilah Price as she was addressing the audience. Chicken Chicken later explained that he was irritated when Price attempted to introduce his father to the crowd, a move he found intrusive given his personal family issues. He described the incident as “inevitable” due to his stress and frustration over the event’s preparations and his desire to keep certain family matters private.

Beyond the personal rift, the controversy has also cast doubt on the fate of Mama Yakuza, the intended beneficiary of the charity event. While the show was promoted as a fundraiser to build her a house, Chicken Chicken has since clarified that the money collected was insufficient for such a project. He emphasized that his initial promise was merely to help Mama Yakuza get out of the ghetto, not to build her a house outright. He stated that he would collaborate with well-wishers to secure land and building materials, but cautioned that a house should not be expected anytime soon.

Despite the acrimony, both Chicken Chicken and Sheilah Price have indicated that they will continue to work together professionally, at least for now. The duo co-hosts a gossip show on Baba TV, owned by former Member of Parliament Moses Grace Balyeku, and remain among the most followed Ugandan media personalities on TikTok. However, Price has confirmed that their friendship has ended, even if their professional collaboration continues.

The fallout between Chicken Chicken and Sheilah Price has ignited widespread debate among their fans and the broader Ugandan TikTok community. Many netizens have weighed in, with some criticizing Price for not promoting the show and others questioning Chicken Chicken’s handling of the event’s finances. The saga underscores the complexities of influencer collaborations, especially when money and public expectations are involved, and serves as a cautionary tale for digital creators navigating the blurred lines between friendship, business, and charity.
