Position Summary

The Video Reporter will play a critical role in capturing compelling video content that tells authentic stories aligned with Bensp Press’s mission and vision. This position requires a creative, adaptable journalist who can report on breaking news, conduct interviews, and produce engaging videos that resonate across digital, social media, and broadcast platforms. The Video Reporter must work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment, demonstrating accountability and a commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

•           Produce high-quality video reports covering news events, features, and special stories that align with Bensp Press’s editorial standards.

•           Research and develop story ideas, conduct interviews, and gather footage in a timely and accurate manner.

•           Edit video content using industry-standard software to deliver polished, engaging media for distribution across TV, online platforms, and social channels.

•           Collaborate closely with editors, writers, producers, and other reporters to ensure consistent messaging and timely publication.

•           Maintain agility to respond quickly to breaking news and emerging stories with relevant video coverage.

•           Uphold ethical journalism standards by ensuring accuracy, fairness, and respect in all reporting.

•           Continuously seek feedback and opportunities to improve video storytelling techniques and content impact.

•           Manage equipment and digital assets responsibly and ensure technical quality of audio and visuals.

•           Participate in team meetings and contribute to strategic editorial planning.

Required Qualifications

•           Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or a closely related field.

•           Proven experience in video reporting, production, and editing for news or media organizations.

•           Proficiency with video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.

•           Strong storytelling skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and engagingly.

•           Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a team.

•           Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly in a fast-paced news environment.

•           Understanding of journalistic ethics and commitment to credible, unbiased reporting.

•           Basic knowledge of social media platforms and digital content distribution.

•           Ability to travel as needed for field reporting.

Preferred Qualifications

•           Prior experience reporting for television, online video platforms, or digital news outlets.

•           Familiarity with multimedia journalism tools and emerging video technologies.

•           Fluency in local languages or additional languages relevant to the target audience.

•           Experience in investigative journalism or specialized reporting areas such as politics, business, or culture.

•           Knowledge of data journalism or use of interactive content tools is a plus.
