Position Summary
The Compliance Officer at Bensp Press will ensure that the company operates within legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to the media industry while upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct. This role is pivotal in maintaining adherence to internal policies, managing risk, and fostering a culture of integrity and accountability throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor compliance policies and procedures aligned with media laws, industry regulations, and internal standards.
• Conduct regular audits and compliance reviews to assess risks and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure all content and operational practices meet applicable legal and ethical standards, avoiding issues such as libel, copyright infringement, and regulatory breaches.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to employees on compliance-related matters and industry best practices.
• Monitor evolving compliance regulations in media and news dissemination, proactively adjusting policies accordingly.
• Collaborate with editorial, legal, and management teams to address compliance risks and resolve issues swiftly.
• Manage reporting frameworks to regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, ensuring full transparency and documentation.
• Lead investigations of compliance breaches and coordinate corrective actions.
• Assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, partnership agreements, and corporate governance documents to ensure compliance terms are met.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Media Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years professional experience in compliance, legal affairs, or regulatory roles—preferably within media, communications, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of media laws, broadcasting regulations, data protection, and intellectual property rights.
• Proven ability to interpret and enforce regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• High ethical standards and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, including capacity to train and advise diverse teams.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced degree or certification in Compliance, Legal Practice, or Media Law (e.g., Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional).
• Familiarity with digital media, social media regulations, and broadcasting technology standards.
• Prior experience in a media company or news organization.
• Knowledge of international media compliance trends and standards.
