Position Summary

The Category Editor at Bensp Press will lead the editorial management and strategic development of a specific news category, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and engaging content that aligns with our mission and vision. This role demands a highly motivated editorial professional who can coordinate with reporters, writers, and producers while maintaining editorial standards and driving content innovation tailored to diverse platforms.

Key Responsibilities

•           Oversee the planning, development, and execution of content for the assigned news category across multiple media platforms (TV, digital, social media, newsletters).

•           Ensure all content meets the highest standards of accuracy, trustworthiness, and editorial integrity in line with Bensp Press’s values.

•           Collaborate with reporters, freelance writers, and multimedia teams to produce timely and compelling stories.

•           Monitor emerging trends and audience preferences to optimize category content strategy and engagement.

•           Lead editorial meetings, briefs, and reviews to maintain clear communication and alignment within the team.

•           Manage content calendar and deadlines, ensuring agility and speed in publishing without compromising quality.

•           Mentor and provide feedback to junior editorial staff to foster professional growth and continuous improvement.

•           Uphold accountability by tracking content performance and implementing changes to enhance quality and reach.

•           Participate actively in cross-departmental collaboration to support company-wide goals.

Required Qualifications

•           Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field.

•           Minimum of 5 years experience in an editorial role, preferably in news media or a related industry.

•           Proven track record managing editorial teams and multi-platform content production.

•           Strong editorial judgment with attention to detail and commitment to factual accuracy.

•           Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

•           Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced environments and changing news cycles.

•           Proficiency with digital content management systems and social media platforms.
